TAAI’S 66th CRUISE CONVENTION CONCLUDED –ILLUMINATES 300+ MINDS ONBOARD “SPECTRUM OF THE SEAS”

Regional Tourism, Rebuilding Connect and addressing the needs of a Connected Traveler being the theme of TAAI’S 66th convention, the three day event turned out to be a mega block buster event, which was very well acknowledged and appreciated by all the participants onboard Spectrum of the Seas.

The newest cruise ship on the sailing of 3 days itinerary with a stopover at Penang, provided the right itinerary to go with the theme of Regional Tourism for TAAI’s Convention. The event was also attended by key representatives from Nepal Tourism Board, Sri lanka Tourism, Kazhak Tourism and a meeting with key stakeholders from Penang was also arranged during the Cocktail dinner hosted by Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau.

With 300+ delegates attending the convention and shaking hands with each other in style on board (Spectrum of the Seas), the event set the right stage for addressing the topics like Regional Tourism, Connected Traveler, and Relevance of Technology and so on.

The Guest of Honor P. Kumaran, High Commissioner of India to Singapore addressed the participants with a clear message of using this platform to build stronger ties enabling more tourism between South East Asia and India.

 Discussion topics ranged from War, Peace and Tourism to Regional Tourism and Connected Traveler. Moreover, the situation update from Sri Lanka Tourism let the audience be aware of the fact that Sri lanka is ready to welcome tourists again. Nepal Tourism Board attended the event with a powerful delegation of tourism stakeholders to connect with the travel fraternity from India. A Presentation from Singapore Airlines showcased the various offerings for the trade and special benefits for MICE groups.

The event focused on the importance of promoting Cruise Tourism in India from Inbound, Domestic and Outbound Tourism too. India with a vast coastline of close to 7500 KM carries a huge potential for cruise tourism to be developed and contribute more to GDP out of Tourism business.
