With Covid vaccine out Indian Travelers are still seeking for Safe and Hygienic Domestic Destinations ; says The New Informed World Traveler Survey

A new online survey took a deep dive of India’s travel and hospitality patterns in recent times. The findings highlighted that despite of the fact that India’s vaccination drive is on and people are getting vaccinated, 89% of Indians are keen to visit domestic destinations which are following Covid safety and hygiene protocol. Majority of respondents emphasized on preferring high level health and safety standards at tourism spots, hotels and resorts before selecting their favourite travel destination and properties for staycations, highlighted the survey.

Conducted by Noor Mahal, India’s incredible palatial Hotel Brand, the survey also witnessed a hike in demand for domestic over foreign destinations. The online survey was conducted among a sample of adults who travelled for business or leisure in the past six  months, and must be planning to travel in 2021. According to the New Informed World Traveler  survey, which polled more than 3,000 adults, one in three people are most looking forward to travel with family and friends as compared to solo travel. Decoding the deciding elements behind selecting a preferred hotel destination, respondents voted for high level health and safety standards,  sustainability, responsible tourism and authentic and value for money as key factors.

Mr. Roop Pratap Choudhary, Managing Director of Noor Mahal (An award winning luxurious Palace Hotel Brand), said,People are now preferring staycations over long holidays and short distance tours over long journeys. Travelers of the new informed world are keen to take smaller journeys, and discovering wonderful experiences closer home. But at the same time they are very particular about the safety and hygiene standards of their preferred destinations. Be it bag packers, corporate groups, families or friends, people are preferring to drive down to their nearby getaways for short and relaxed staycations. In our recent survey, surprisingly 59% respondents preferred short driveable holidays over long distant holidays.”

The positive side of worldwide lockdown is that the nature has got the time to reboot and blossom. This has made us realise the true value of sustainable and eco-friendly practices to save the life saving planet. Maintaining the beauty of environment through recycling and proper management of five living elements i.e. water, waste, energy, food and structure, hotel brands in the new informed world are now committed to deliver sustainable hospitality experiences. The survey indicated that as travelers witnessed Mother Nature flourishing amid the lockdown, sustainable travel and giving back to the community through travel and local stays is high in demand.

69% of respondents mentioned sustainability as one of their top priorities before hitting any domestic travel destination. 49% of respondents gave special attention to offbeat destinations so as to avoid the travel rush to popular destinations. While 32% were in favour of community support to help local tourism recover amid the pandemic. A highly trained staff on hygiene and safety protocols, more personalized experiences and automation for comfort topped the survey chart of service standard expectations from hotels and resorts.
